With reference to Governor Mercer's despatch of the 30th January last, transmitting copy of the Surveyor General's report on sites available for the erection of the Mint, I have the honour to transmit to you copies of correspondence on the subject between Major Kinder and this department.

I also transmit herewith a draft to his Excellency to acquaint you that I referred the above despatch to the War Office for their consideration, and hope to be able at an early date to communicate to you their decision.
